Change Blog Address

Hi there,

I would like to change my blog address. I followed he WP video tutorial but it seems WP has been updated since the video was made and that the procedure is different now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is no need for a modlook tag on this thread.

You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account in order to change the blog’s URL. Then you can use this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

That option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again.

If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, and retain and page rank the blog has or authority your have gained in the niche then you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.

The reason I can’t follow the guide you posted is because the screens seems to have been updated and are different from how they may have once looked.

So what happened is that you clicked on the “My Blogs” that is under the WordPress logo drop-down menu in the upper left hand corner. You need to click on the “My Blogs” link under the “Dashboard” drop-down menu instead.

Does that make sense?

I will also see about making the instructions clearer.

What browser are you using and what version? If it is IE please make sure it is not in compatibility mode.

Otherwise, try logging out and clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, closing your browser and then opening it again to log in.

I’m using Firefox. I cleared the cache and cookies and I am still experiencing the same problem. I tried on other browsers with no luck.

We are testing a new dashboard layout for some users, which is why your dashboard looks a bit different than what’s described in our support pages and tutorials. Hi Kyle, I checked with our team, and this URL should get you to the correct My Blogs page to change your blog address:

http://toorfromwork.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&SSE_User_Post_Activation_Location_20130722=wpadmin

Other users who are also having this issue can use the following link, replacing YOURBLOG with your blog’s address:

http://YOURBLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&SSE_User_Post_Activation_Location_20130722=wpadmin

You can then follow the instructions on this page to change the address: Changing a Blog Address

I tried using your link but after logging in, the link brings me to the same screen I was getting before. Here is a pic.
