Change blog address created a new blog

    We need our current website address (beapioneer.wordpress.com) to be changed to writeonbroadway.wordpress.com.

    I clicked ‘Change Blog Address’, opted to keep my username, and to ‘not’ permanently delete the beapioneer address incase we wanted to use it in the future. I hit submit, it went through…

    BUT a second blog showed up (a blank one) with the writeonbroadway.wordpress.com blog address, and the other remains the same! I tried changing the ‘new one’ to something different, and selected ‘no’ to permanently deleting ‘writeonbroadway’…but again, it kept the blog address, and just created a THIRD blog with the new address!

    I don’t know what to do! I contacted WordPress early yesterday and still haven’t heard back and we need to launch this ASAP.

    Hello there,
    As you have already contacted Staff please don’t do so again and also know that we Volunteers cannot help you. Staff deal with support tickets in order of the earliest date and time stamps first. If you contact theme again what happens is the date moves forward and it takes longer to get support. You will have to be patient as they provide support for over 25 million.

    I did not contact WordPress again, as I’m aware that they are busy. Instead, I opted to post here, on a ‘Support’ forum as to receive ‘support’ from other community members who may have the same issue. Because we are pressed for time, I thought it would be useful to ask others if this is common, if there is an explanation, or a solution which can easily rectify the situation.
