Change Blog Address Without Site Redirect
-
If I change my blog address, is it necessary to purchase a Site Redirect upgrade? What happens if I simply change the address without making any purchases? Will my posts be visible to my followers?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you do change your blog address, permalinks to your old address, including search engine results, will be broken unless you purchase a Site Redirect upgrade.
Basically you will lose your traffic as you moved your blog but not redirecting your traffic to new address.

To follow up on that question, if it’s a relatively new blog and there aren’t that many visitors yet, or pages in your existing blog, the need for a redirect is not so crucial. I assume I can simply re-create the pages by copying & pasting the HTML and uploading the relevant images and if I don’t have many blog posts, I can create them anew (and perhaps the export/import function can help with this). So if all that is true, the problems will be 1) google results (links will not work without a redirect for at least a year?) and 2) the dates of the blog posts (but if I import, perhaps the dates will be ok, in which case the only problem is #1?). So the more blog posts, the worse the problem.
