Change blog and page titles

  Hello Support,

  I’m attempting to improve search engine rankings and would like to start by changing the title tags for my blog and the pages to remove the blog name and put just have just a descriptive title, the site uses the Spring Loaded theme.

  Does this mean I need to upgrade to Worpress.org and host the site externally to get access to php or upoad pluggins?

  Please read this > WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  In a word “yes” because we cannot change permalink structure on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. We don not have FTP access and canot install plugins. However, if you think mucking with those is going to produce better SEO on a free standing sel hosted WordPress.org install than a free hosted WordPress.com blog has then you are wrong. WordPress.com has excellent SEO.

  Thanks for the clarification

  I’m sure Worpress.com is search engine friendly but if the blog title is non-descriptive and is fixed, I immediately loose some SE value.

  Unfortunately I’m stuck with the tile, and yes using a descriptive title is one of the elements I’ve always done in the past to get first page results.
