change "Blog at WordPress.co" to "Website at WordPress.com" ?

  Is it possible to change the footer link “Blog at WordPress.com” to “Website at WordPress.com”? I saw this once on a WP non-blog website. Maybe the option is available with some, but not all, WP.com themes? Maybe it’s an option with WP.org but not WP.com? I will be using my WP.com site as a website with no blog features, hence the need for the change. I’m pleased to feature the required link on my site, but “Blog” instead of “Website” isn’t representative and doesn’t look professional.

  In general, you cannot edit the footer credits since that is set in the theme PHP script files, and besides that, it is not allowed to change them. You can add to what is there, but you cannot edit or modify the main footer credits.

  To do this, you would have to have the custom design upgrade.

  Most likely the sites you’ve seen that had the footer stuff modified were self-hosted wordpress installations using the software from wordpress.ORG.
