how do I change the name of the blog?

Been there dozens of times. Went there again after your reply, scrutinized the page to see if I was missing it somewhere, but there’s nothing at all that I can find on that page to change the name of the blog. I’m very confused about all this. I don’t need to change the address deighlytfl.wordpress.com. I just need to change the title of the blog, which is currently also my username, deighlytfl. So, if it is on the page you said, could you PLEASE tell me WHERE on that page it is, because I’m completely lost and not finding it.

It is not the site title that I wish to change, only the blog name. Is that on a different page? If so, where?

What specifically do you want to change? We are clearly talking about different things. Where on the blog do you see the thing you want to change?

Ok. I’m sorry I don’t understand this and I don’t mean to confuse you. This whole trying to get registered and started process…well, I’ve been at it for about 6 hours now, and still can’t name my blog. I thought deighlytfl.wordpress.com is the site title, like the address at which I could post one (or possibly more) blogs, and that each blog gets it’s own name/title which is not at all in the .com kind of format.
When I click on the “my blogs” tab from the bar near the top, it goes to a page that says, in big blue letters for the blog title, deighlytfl. Below that, in much smaller grey letters, it says deighlytfl.wordpress.com. It’s the big blue blog title that I need to change, not the wordpress address.

I’ll check responses sometime tomorrow if I can get back to another internet zone that day. It’s been long hours internetting from my vehicle, very cold, never expected it would take this long or be this hard to find an answer to a simple question. I’ve absolutely got to go get to heat and shelter before I lose a toe or something.

Oh jesus christ, no. It appears you only want to change the name of the blog AS IT DISPLAYS ON THE DASHBOARD. Okay. Change the URL, then wait a number of weeks. It will change. There is no way to change the name on the dashboard or the drop-down MY BLOGS list other than changing the URL.

Ok, I’m back online for a bit. When I first signed up, one box said deighlytfl.wordpress.com, with a note that that address could be changed later. I do NOT wish to change that! The second box said blog name (or maybe blog title) and a note that said “Don’t worry, you can change this at any time.” That’s the one I need to change, and can’t find any instructions for doing so.

Is there maybe a different blog site somewhere that is significantly more user-friendly than wordpress? I’m really starting to think I chose the wrong place for my blog, since I can’t seem to find any of the instructions on how to do any of this.

You are clearly confused. On the settings general page, the first option is called site title and based on what you’re describing is what you want to change. Change that and let us know if it’s what you wanted.
