Change blog name for search engines

After starting a blog, I changed the name but kept the same domain. Now, in search engines, my blog still comes up under the old name. Is there a way to fix this?

Your custom domain .org blog is hosted at wordpress.com.
It’ll take some time for search engines to update the ‘title’ of your blog. Wait for 2-3 days or more.

I changed the name a few months ago but only made the site available to search engines a few hours ago.

In some cases, it could take up to about 3 months depending on the search engine’s full index cycles. Generally they index a site, and then for 3 months or so, all they do is look for new stuff by inspecting your sitemap.xml file.
If you had it set to block search engines for a while, then they might notice that and now that it is open again, re-index the entire site in which case, your new blog title should be picked up sooner.
