Change blog name, keep posts

    Hi. I chose a name from my blog a few years ago and want to change it. But I do not want to lose all the posts or my followers. Just want to go from jayjayemgee to something like Music Everywhere. Do I need to pay for an upgrade? Help.

    You don’t need to upgrade to do this, and none of your posts or followers will be lost. Just the address will change.

    Just keep in mind the old address will be deleted as part of the process, so you won’t be able to use it again, and any old links you’ve shared on social media will no longer work.

    You can prevent this by contacting us after you make the change. Then we can restore the deleted address, and you can buy a site redirect upgrade for it so old links will go to the new address instead.

    You can also add a custom domain, without “wordpress” in it, to your site. For that you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.
