Change Blog name/title

Can anyone tell me how to change the name/ title on my blog page?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Site title (blog name) and/or the optional Tagline can be changed on the top of this page at any time. > Settings > General … “save changes”.

That is exactly where search engine spiders look for the site title and removing it from there can cause issues with getting your content indexed. Note that the site title (blog name) and blog address URL do not have to be the same but it’s better for SEO (search engine optimization) if they are the same.

That is brilliant, thank you just changed it. Thank you very much for your help.

I am new to blogging can you tell me if there are any training videos?

    Thank you

The videos online are not for WordPress.COM hosted blogs. They are for WordPress.ORG software installs and the two are very different. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Here are some basics I will share with you.

To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com hosted blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.

WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines

It can take weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google/ and we cannot help with search engine issues. http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/

re: front page error message found on every new .wordpress.com blog

    Nothing Found
It seems we cannot find what you are looking for. Perhaps try a search?

There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

Please use the step by step tutorial that Staff have linked to the bottom of your Admin page at http://learn.wordpress.com

See also the “Video Quick Start” tutorial http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-quick-start/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also linked to on the bottom of your Admin page.

All theme have detailed theme description pages with set up instructions and live demo site.
    Example:
    https://wordpress.com/themes/twentyfifteen/
    https://twentyfifteendemo.wordpress.com/

    re: changing themes
Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/ on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.

Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
