Change Blog name/title

This thread has been previously flagged for Staff attention. I hope you read this and are sure you followed all the instructions.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/#instructions-for-registering-a-new-domain-for-your-blog
Store > Domains > Add a Domain > Register Domain > Purchase and register domain >5. To activate your new domain, select the button next to the one you wish to activate and click Update Primary Domain. Your blog will be accessible from both of these domains; the Primary Domain is what actually appears as your domain within the address bar of web browsers.
If you do not see your blog at the new domain immediately, please allow some time for the DNS changes to propagate.
It can take up to 72 hours for the domain name change to propagate throughout the internet. (It rarely takes that long though.)

Hi there,
Yes I did all this last week. Paid for it all, waited the 72 hours, etc. The blog is up but when I go to tap in my main website http://www.lisaleek.com it goes to the wordpress blog address instead. How can I just get my main website back, rather than it go the wordpress blog? I am so sorry, I really am completely vague when it comes to this stuff : ) Thanks
-
oliverjamreview, you need to set your new domain as the primary via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.
lisaleek, http://lisaleek.com/ seems to be working just fine to me. Are you still having trouble?

Hi there,
When I punch in http://www.lisaleek.com the website is redirected to the wordpress page that says”What you are looking for is not here?” What have I done? Again, I am sorry for my lack of IT knowledge : )

Hi Raincoaster – it is meant to go to http://www.lisaleek.com How do I get that back? I must have selected something while I was applying for a wordpress blog.
-
You applied that domain name to your WordPress.com blog, which appears to have no content. What you want is to point it to the other site, I think? What is the original URL of the other site you’re talking about?
-
So I am with Siteground and I changed the DNS settings to the wordpress ones? Would this have done it? I kind of understand where you are coming from : ) I can’t think of what else I could have done to balls it up the way I have!!!
-
I purchased http://www.oliversjamreview.com last night. When I type that in, it goes to oliversjamreview.wordpress.com.
How long does it take until it stays: http://www.oliversjamreview.com
Thanks.

I am a photographer and http://www.lisaleek.com template was purchased through bludomain.com and all my work was on it and I feel sick to the stomach to think this has all been wiped?!
-
@lisaleek: Changes can take up to 72 hours, but usually much less.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain (step 2, “When a new domain is purchased…”)
And if it reassures you, lisaleek.com already directs me to your (empty) WordPress.com blog. -
But what about the previous content that use to be in it? How can I get that back? It had all my photography work in it and I just want it back to the way it was : ( Thank you again.

@lisaleek: Will you please create your new topic rather than hijacking oliverjamreview’s existing topic?
