Change Blog to Website

    Hi,
    I accidentally created a blog instead of a website with the domain ‘interdependent actionnetwork.wordpress.com.’ To fix that, I deleted my old blog, and then attempted to create a new website. However, my old domain was not available! How can I recover this same domain, but in the website format instead of the blog format?

    Hello,

    A blog on WordPress refers to the stream of new content that goes on your site.

    Whether it looks like a traditional blog or more like a modern website will depend on what theme you use and generally how you design your site. So it really isn’t a choice of blog vs. website. The blog is a part of your website whose function is to allow you to have a stream of updates.

    As far as the domain deletion goes, if you have done so in the last thirty days, it might be reversible. Go to this support page and go to the section titled Reverse a Site Deletion.

    Hi metaman0,

    Thanks for the reply! I understand that MOSTLY the difference is in how the website is set up (whether it functions like a blog or a website), however, in menus, and when followers subscribed, the message they received always called it a blog, and that was one of my main issues. To me, it was unprofessional to call something a blog that was much more than that. Does that make sense?
