Change blog url

I want to change my blog url, not buy a domain name but change the xxxx.wordpress.com. I’ve tried several times through Settings, I’ve Saved, and it still hasn’t changed. Suggestions?

You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account in order to change the blog’s URL. Then you can use this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
That option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again.
If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, and retain and page rank the blog has or authority your have gained in the niche then you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.

My suggestion is to keep it simple.
Start a second blog and change the Privacy settings on the first one to Private. You can using it for testing. You can also export the content from the first site and import it to the second site.
