change blog URL

I need to change the title of our blog by our fictional character Martin Delane (we’re building to making a short film about him) but the young webmaster who offered to help us set up the blog and Facebook page has run out of steam, gone off to Uni and is too busy to do anything more than admit me as an administrator. Problem is he misspelt the URL (martinedelane. etc – a female name!) so promotions to the blog have failed disastrously! I need to reclaim ownership asap! But how? Being an administrator doesn’t allow this!
Blog url: http://martinedelane.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The “owner” is the person who created the site, so you’ll need to get their permission to transfer ownership.
I’m not sure if Administrators can change the subdomain (yadayadayada.wordpress.com) or not. Someone else will have to address that.
Perhaps you can add a middle initial for your character and make it Martin E. Delane?

Thanks for that – but no, administrators can’t change the URL – hence the question. And the unresponsive ex-webmaster is officially the owner – and not responding! Martin E! Nice idea, but still ends up looking like Martine in the subdomain, so not an ideal solution! Starting again also not a solution – life being decidedly too short! Direct intervention by WordPress themselves could sort it out, but the whole idea of Forums is for website owners to do away with the need to do anything like service customers, I guess. Thanks anyway.

No, actually, it won’t.
WP staff posts here nearly every day. Sometimes several of them. But their policy is not to transfer ownership without approval of the owner/creator.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen them agree to change a subdomain either.

Fair comment! Thanks for your help. I’ll have another go at the “owner/creator”! You never know! Cheers
