change blog url address

    Can anyone provide advice on how to change the url address of a blog? I already registered the new name as a new site but when I go to the option to change the url address/name I cannot seem to be able to change to the new site/name within my dashboard because it says the name is taken, it is, by me! I certainly do not want to redo the page all over again. Should I delete the new page with the name/url I want and then make the name change request? Any advice would be great.

    HI there,
    As both the URL’s are owned by you, you can simply move the content between them, it will preserve your URL too. You can check this link to Export your Content
    Export
    You can have a copy of your content and simply import it to the blog you want by using this information
    Import

    If you do not want to want the old URL you can delete your site, empty it or keep it Private, so in case you need it later, its there but not public you can read about deleting and other options from this page
    Delete Site
