Change Blog/Site Address Change

Hello:
I am running into a problem while trying to change my site address. I created a blog but decided I wanted to change my the name. Unsuccessfully, I tried to create an identical website under the new name before I realized I could submit to simply change the address of my blog. After I discovered that I could just keep my old website but change the address, I decided to delete the failed attempt to copy my original website. Now when I try to change my address WordPress is telling me I can’t because the address has already been taken…but it hasn’t because I deleted it.
SOS Please help! Your advise is greatly appreciated!

Hello,
If I understand correctly, you are trying to use an address you created, then deleted.
If you are trying to use an address you deleted, it won’t allow you to. Once deleted, that address becomes unavailable for you or anyone else to use.
In some cases, if it has been two or more years and there are no conflicts, then it may become available again. Since you have just created it, then this doesn’t apply to you.
