change body background to custom pattern

Hello! I have been trying to change the body background of my oxygen theme (the white between the background where the content lives) to a custom pattern that I created in illustrator. I tried finding the element in the pages html file to call out in the css file but I haven’t been successful. I feel like this has to be possible because I have accidentally been able to change it to a solid color in the theme customizer. I have also noticed that some people were able to change there’s to gray. Right now the pattern I’d like to use for the white space is used as the background of my blog. I’m hoping that with your help, I can move that pattern to where the white is and then set the background of the blog to a different pattern. Please let me know if you can help!
