Change "Category" page title

I set up menu items as categories so they would show up on my site and allow me to publish posts that would show up on those specific apparent pages. However, when you go to that apparent page, the title includes the word “Category” (Example: the page listed in the menu as “TV” has the page title as “Category: TV”). I’ve tried locating the CSS that controls it, but haven’t been able to get the “Category” part of the title to delete. Customer Support said there wasn’t anything that could be done about it except maybe someone well versed in advanced CSS might know how to do it. So, here I am asking PLEASE help me.

Hi there,

Yes it is right that you cannot get rid of the ‘Category’ part from the title. However you can hide the whole title part using a custom CSS code.

Note that you need to be on the premium plan or business plan to use custom CSS.

This is the CSS code which hides the category title –
```
h1.archive-title {
    display: none;
}
```
And you can enter this code here –
My Sites → Customize → CSS

Howdy Carissa!

To add on to @omkarbhagat’s great response, you are able to remove the “Category” part if you wish but the code will have to manually add in “TV” only on that page. If you would like for this option, you can use the following code:
```
.category-tv .archive-title {
  font-size: 0;
}

.category-tv .archive-title:after {
  content: "TV";
  display: block;
  font-size: 1.75rem;
}
```
