change checkbox to button

  I need to change the checkbox to a button, which if the checkbox is unchecked says “select item” and if checkbox is checked says “item selected”. I want to achieve this via CSS only as i cannot make changes to the HTML of the page. Here is the link to my webpage — > http://www.omgjewelz.com/eset
