Change color and font color on hover button
-
Hello, I chose the theme CoachBen and customized it for my needs. However, the theme came with a couple of buttons that show a different color when hovering over them.
I’m struggling to find that option to adjust and add to the new buttons. Could you please help me?
I haven’t installed any plugin, which I assume I don’t need, as some buttons are already showing it, but I can’t find the options to adjust it.

Hello @martinakikich,
I had a look at your site, and I can see what you mean about the hover color on the buttons, it’s a thoughtful detail to want to fine-tune.
The hover color you’re seeing comes built into the CoachBen theme’s default settings. While there isn’t a direct option to change only the hover color, there’s a workaround you can try:
- Go to Appearance > Editor in your dashboard.
- Select Styles from the top right (the half-moon icon).
- Click Colors > Palette, then adjust the Secondary color to your preferred shade.
This will change the hover color of buttons, as the theme uses the secondary color for that, but a heads-up, it may also affect other elements that use this same color across the site.
You can learn more about how color settings work here: Find the color settings.
If you’d like more control, you could also use Custom CSS to target the button hover styles directly. While we don’t offer hands-on support for writing CSS on WordPress.com, we do have a helpful guide to get you started: About CSS.
