change color of header/footer

  Hi. I’m trying to change the color of the header and footer of my site, which is a Janice theme. Right now the header and footer are black with white text/symbols and I would like them to be black with white text/symbols. I have been on about 15 different help boards and copy and pasted the answers given into my CSS box but none of them have worked. Please help.

  Right now the header and footer are black with white text/symbols and I would like them to be black with white text/symbols.

  Do you want to keep the text and icons white, and just change the black background to another colour? Or would you like to change the colour of the text and icons too?

  If you let me know, I can look at the CSS with you :)
