Change Color : Post Area, Side bar, Bottom bar… / Hemingway Rewritten Theme
-
To DesignsSimply,
One further adjustment that I desperately need your help on. I must make the title (small headers) of each section on the right hand widget sidebar a font size larger or two, and perhaps bold them.
It was this was on the Free version, but the switch over to premium has reduced the size of the titles and it looked much much better.
The only thing I’m able to do is change all the text size/fonts universally which does nothing for this particular issue.
Once again, I’m at your mercy here. Please help this mess.
Best,
Bruno -
I don’t get this at all.
Why would the font for the titles on the sidebar widgets be smaller than the actual text in the body of the widget????
It was the opposite in the free Hemingway version and looked great!
I got the premium version, and now I’m stuck with a smaller font for the titles???
What gives here?
Please help me I’m drowning here…………..

any chance you could help me change the background color for quoted text fields. It’s only slightly lighter grey than the site’s general grey background color, and I sure would like to lighted it up if possible.
The background of the blockquote is coming from the following rule:
blockquote { background-color: rgba( 238, 238, 238, 0.2 ); }The first thee numbers represent the color in RGB values and the fourth represents the transparency value between 0 and 1 (zero being fully transparent and one being fully opaque).
Change the opacity and pick a value you would prefer.
I must make the title (small headers) of each section on the right hand widget sidebar a font size larger or two, and perhaps bold them.
The current font size of the widget titles is 11px coming from the following rule. I changed it to 20px and made it bold.
.wf-active .widget-title { font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; }Add this rule and change the font size to whatever size you prefer.

Thanks so much, everything you have passed onto me has worked perfectly.
One final touch when you find the time. I need the code to change the awful slimy green color on the Site Search and Follow via email widgets to a more compatible blue.
Best,

Final request, I promise.
I’d like to make the Navbar heading font a tad larger.
merci brother.

Hi Bruno, for the navigation font size, add the following and adjust as desired.
.main-navigation a { font-size: 1.3rem; }On the site search, I’m not seeing a search widget, but the following should catch them both. Add this and then adjust the color for the follow button.
.site-footer button, .site-footer input[type="button"], .site-footer input[type="reset"], .site-footer input[type="submit"], .widget_search .search-submit { background-color: #cbe86b; }I also see the same green on the theme credits in the footer. You can add the following to make those a color that better fits with your site as well.
.site-footer a, .site-footer a:visited, .site-footer a:hover, .site-footer a:focus, .site-footer a:active { color: #cbe86b; } -
Thanks ever so much SacredPath. All worked.
The only thing is, with the color change, now the text in the colored fields of the Search & Follow widget needs to be White and not black.
Please let me know the right code, if you find the time kind sir.
Merci brother!

One last issue, if I may………..
Can one of you angels provide me with the CSS code as as to make the font larger only on the “Continue Reading” link specifically.
Thank you,
You guys are the best!

For the button text color add a color declaration to the rule with the .search-submit selector in it (the second one from above.
color: #fff;On the continue reading link, you can try a couple things and see which you prefer, or even use both. One would be to make that link bold, and then the other to increase the font size. Or both. The following includes both declarations, so you can use what you wish, and of course adjust font size to your liking.
.more-link { font-weight: bold; font-size: 110%; } -
Thanks brother, but exactly where do I stick the “color declaration” within that particular code line thread, sorry to be such a dounce on this stuff.
-
Add it to this rule, that you have in your custom CSS, or replace that rule with the below.
.site-footer button, .site-footer input[type="button"], .site-footer input[type="reset"], .site-footer input[type="submit"], .widget_search .search-submit { background-color: #cbe86b; color: #fff; } -

SacrePath,
You’re not going to get rid of me that easy…….
Seriously, is there any way to get social share buttons for the posts, but, importantly, without the count feature on them?
Best,
Bruno -
Bruno, If you go to Settings > Sharing in your dashboard, and scroll down to the bottom, you can choose where you want the sharing buttons to appear under Show buttons on.
You can also show/hide the sharing buttons on a post-by-post and page-by-page basis in the sharing module in the post/page editor.
You can hide the count on the sharing buttons with the following.
.sd-social .sd-button .share-count { display: none; } -

Final, final, final request. I cross my heart and hope to die.
Could you provide me with the CSS code so as to change the color of the WordPress Hemingway advertisement at the very bottom of the page footer.
That fluorescent green just has to go mon ami……………lol!
Best,
bruno -
Please change the color to whatever you want.
.site-footer a, .site-footer a:visited, .site-footer a:hover, .site-footer a:focus, .site-footer a:active { color: red; }This question does not have to be final one. Ask as much as you want. Bring them on :-)
