No, the free plan is forever! It never runs out and you never have to upgrade.

You can find all the methods of payment at https://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/. Payment is due in full at the time of the upgrade. You pay for a year and it renews yearly (if you choose to).

Hi, final question. Why can’t I add any images to my blog post? It looks as if I may have used up most of the 3GB, but how do I delete current pictures or gain more GBs?

The best method would be to go to your wp-admin. You can accomplish this by going to https://whatcherylsaid.wordpress.com/wp-admin. After logging in, you can go to the media section and delete images you’re not using. I would suggest NOT to delete images currently in use and only delete images that aren’t in use.
To gain more GBs you can upgrade to a plan. You can get 3GB more by going to the Personal. Premium has 13GB. Business has unlimited.
