Change default wordpress site linked to gravatar

    How do I change the wordpress site linked to my gravatar. If I comment on a blog my gravatar appears. A hovercard then appears, with a button ‘View complete profile’. If this is clicked it shows my old wordpress site, not the one I’m using now. But I changed my primary site on WP admin a months ago to the new one. How can I get it changed at gravatar level?

    Hi! The Primary Site is different from the web address:
    https://wordpress.com/me/account

    What you’re thinking of is the web address, and changing it will affect your comments going forward.

    The Primary Site can be a default when you’re using our interfaces and haven’t explicitly chosen a site.

    Thanks for replying. But I still don’t know how to change the site on the gravatar hover card. I’ll call the old and new sites ‘old.wp.com’ and ‘new.wp.com’. Both are wordpress.com sites.
    https://wordpress.com/me/account takes me to the wordpress Account Settings page. Here both Primary site and Web address show ‘new.wp.com’ – which is correct.
    If I go to a comment I’ve left on another blog this shows both my gravatar and my name. If I hover over my name ‘new.wp.com’ shows in the bottom left of the screen, and if I click on my name I go to ‘new.wp.com’. Both correct.
    If I hover over the gravatar I see a hover card with a ‘View complete profile’ button. But if I click on that ‘View complete profile’ button I go to an http://en.gravatar.com/ page where under ‘Find Me Online’ it says WordPress and then ‘old.wp.com’, which is a hyperlink which calls up ‘old.wp.com’ – this is wrong.
    If I click Login I go to a Manage Gravatars page. If I then take ‘My Profile’ and then ‘Websites’ the only website shown is ‘new.wp.com’ – which again is correct. What I can’t find out how to change is the ‘old.wp.com’ which appears on the hover card!
    Can you help please.

    I think I need to retrace some steps here, to make sure we’re looking at the right thing….

    That shows my name, then Edit my Profile & Hide my Profile buttons.

    Then:

    Find Me Online
    WordPress
    thinkingmakesitso.wordpress.com

    That ‘thinkingmakesitso.wordpress.com’ is the old site (ie ‘old.wp.com’). It should now be ‘https://somestronglanguage.wordpress.com/’ (ie ‘new.wp.com’)

    Hello Chris,

    Many thanks for that clarification.

    It looks like WordPress.com, with that site has been added as a verified service: https://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit#verified-services

    Removing this will also remove that link.
