Totally lost. I hit the mapped domain and it changed my site name from wordpress.com back to the original .org name, but now the wordpress site does not show up.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Good Morning –

Please share the domain URL that you’re trying to map and i’ll be glad to help!

Each mapped or registered custom domain will be connected to a .wordpress.com site address. Once the custom domain is setup, your visitors will only see that domain, not the .wordpress.com site address.

    The URL is: http://www.pgarcoc.org

The domain name was registered with Network Solutions. It has been unlocked and can be transferred to WordPress.com

    The authorization code is:
    [Domain Name], [Authorization Code]
    PGARCOC.ORG, cqaye1554

  • Thanks for sharing!

WordPress.com is unable to accept domain transfers. Instead, what we can do, is map the domain to your account.

I’ve gone ahead and set this up on our end (see email). There’s one more step that you’ll need to complete to finish up. The name servers on the domain will need to be changed so that the domain shows your WordPress.com site. See step #2 here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

Your domain is going to stay with Network Solutions. Each year you will need to renew the domain registration with them, and then renew the mapping with us.

I’m happy to answer any follow up questions.

I do not understand. I paid WordPress $99.00 for a premium account which I understood included a year of Domain Name.

Now you are asking me to pay someone else for domain registration?????

Who do I contact to get a refund of my $99.00??????

    Please provide a telephone number.

  • Hello –

It looks like you mapped pgarcoc.org to a different user account than the one that you’ve contacted us from here in the forums.

Once you login to that account you will find pgarcoc.org listed under My Sites in the upper left corner of the screen.

I’ve removed the mapping from this account (username srbqcs) and removed the payment request.

I have also sent an email to the email address on the account with the domain mapping upgrade for pgarcoc.org. This is the email address that you’ll need to login to WordPress.com with.

All of the support for WordPress.com is offered online.
