i have a wordpress blog: andracarter.wordpress.com… but my blog’s name is FOX LANE. i would really like to have the domain foxlane.wordpress.com, which i understand someone used to have but is no longer using. is there any way i can have that domain too?

The authors have deleted this blog.I’m sorry but that’s not possible because deleted blog URLs are not recycled. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain vis a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

I will answer your off-topic comment this one time. In the future do not hijack threads and post off-topic into them please. Instead create you own thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1Your site will still be discoverable with a private domain registration. That said, your domain is likely to have more trust value if the domain is not privately registered. For example, if you are business or if you expect to be acknowledged as an authority or expert in your field, then surely you should have all your details public.
