  Hello,

  I was wondering if you can help me change my domain name as it is currently my name and I do not want my name for it since it is an assignment I am doing about a business.

  Because this is my first year I got the domain name free but if I want to change it do I need to pay?

  Hi there!

  There are two ways you can do this – you can change the name of your free blog or just create a new one for your project.

  The benefit of creating a new site is that you can preserve valerydasilva.wordpress.com for later use. If you delete it, the name cannot ever be used in the future. You’re not limited in the number of free sites you can create here at WordPress.com, so I would recommend doing that instead of deleting.

  Because this is my first year I got the domain name free but if I want to change it do I need to pay?

  That only applies if you choose a custom domain name – if you use the free *.wordpress.com domain, it’s free for life. :)
