Hi, I am trying to change my domain name because it has a spelling error. But I had already created one with the correct spelling and then deleted it again so it says that the one with the correct name is no longer available because it has been used. But I know that it is not being used anymore because I was the one who created it in the first place and deleted it again! So how do I get the correct spelling address back somehow?

Too bad you ignored the warnings. Now you will have to register a different URL.
You cannot register any deleted blog URL. Deleting any .wordpress.com blog URL is not easily done and what you ask to do is not possible. One has to ignore at least three warnings stating that deletion is permanent and irreversible and then click a verification link in an email to delete a blog. That’s because deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
