change domain and multilingual site
-
Hello,
I have lost my first site trying to change the domain mycoachideal.com, in addition I need to be able to have the site in French and English , What should I do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I’m not certain I understand what you mean by lost your first site. The site at mycoachideal.com loads for me. If you are still not seeing the domain, you might need to log out, clear your browser cache and cookies (which will also log you out of any other site you are currently logged into), close and then reopen your browser. It can take up to 72 hours for the domain to completely propagate through the interwebs. Patience is the key. Let us know how that goes.
Concerning multilingual sites, there are several good suggestions in this support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/
As far as the language of the site itself, if you want the theme to also appear in a different language, your better choice is to use Option #3, 2 separate sites using the same theme (but in different languages) and link between them.
Let us know if you need more info on that.

Hello,
While posting the message it finally changed from mycoachideal.wordpress.com to mycoachideal.com. I now need to add the option to have the site in French and Spanish.
Also, when you click on menu, the screen is blue where all the other options are. How do I change it -
Do you mean you want to change the blue background or the items in the menu?
You can change the blue background on the menu only if you have either the Premium or Business plan upgrades. If you do have one of those plans, best to open a new thread in the CSS Customization forum for assistance. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform
If you mean you want to change the menu items> https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

Thank you so much for replying. Yes I do mean change the background color of the blue background. I guess no premium for I now.
How bout downloading polylang for multilingual sites? I do not see that puggin. -
The ability to upload plugins is available on standalone WP (org) sites. We have a number of plugins built into the WordPressdotcom platform, but cannot upload any other plugins.

I should have looked first before replying.
Edin, the theme you are using, has a number of featured color palettes available that you can activate in the Customizer under Colors & Backgrounds without having any kind of upgrade.
Apologies for having overlooked that.

no worries I am almost there. I am having a hard time with the paypal code, I offer 4 services and do add a drop down but once on the site neither the options appear nor the paypal button although checked, of course I am doing this in my paypal account…help
-
We can only add a PayPal button and you should be able to add it following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/view-all/
Are those the instructions you are following?
-
Yes it is. But even when I put init in html, yen o look in visual the data is static and details my offers but no drop down menu
-
-
oh I see, now if my admin page does not offer plugins, in other words once I click the plugin option to search for the appropriate plugin like a booking calendar and it says none are found, does it mean that I have to upgrade?
-
No upgrade on WordPressdotcom will give you the ability to install 3rd party plugins. Please see again my above answer to you https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/change-domain-and-multilingual-site#post-2873977
While we can use Google calendar embed if having a booking plugin is mission critical for you then you will want to look at hosting your own install of the WordPress software.

alas my paypal code does not work at all after copy and paste in the html field, nothing appears and I am in the admin page
-
Hello again,
Just wanting to clarify that you’re clear on the use of additional plugins here on WordPressdotcom.
As far as the PayPal issue, I’d suggest opening a separate thread since this thread has become quite long and has several different subjects.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1
When you open the new thread in the above link, please paste the PayPal code you have between code tags (button above the comment box) so we can see it.

Hi there, that form will not work here on WordPressdotcom
As I mentioned in my above reply, https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/change-domain-and-multilingual-site?replies=16#post-2874865 this is the only way you can embed a PayPal button on a WordPressdotcom site.
