change domain mapping to subdomain mapping

  I have an active domain mapping to my blog, kitchencommunity.worpress.com, and I want to change it to a subdomain mapping. I have already asked my domain provider to reassingn the DNS severs, and the creation of the CNAME record for the subdomain mapping.

  How can I make the changes to the blog configuration to make it work with the new subdomain?
  Do I have to purchase a new subdomain mapping extension, or can I substitute the current domain mapping that I will not use any more?
