Change domain name

  How do I change the domain name to a new name, but still keep every thing else the same? I also want the old domain name to be linked to the new domain name as well. So if someone types in the old domain name, it can still be directed to the same site as before, but the new domain name will be in the url. I hope this makes sense.

  Hi there,

  You can accomplish this by registering a new domain per the instructions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/

  Once you’ve registered the domain, follow the instructions on that page to set it as primary. Now that will be the primary domain that shows in the address bar, though all other domains associated with the site can also be used and will automatically redirect to the primary domain.
