Change domain name

  I misspelled my domain name and i’m not sure how to chnage it.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  In order to change your site’s domain name follow these steps:

  1. Login to WordPress.com and under My Sites select your website.
  2. In the left-hand sidebar scroll down and click on Domains.
  3. Click on the domain you’d like to change.
  4. Click on Edit Site Address
  5. Hover over where it says ‘imwithetheband.wordpress.com’ and you’ll see the option to Change blog address appear. Click on Change blog address.
  6. Follow the instructions on that page.

  I have the same problem. I’m following your instructions up to 4. Click on Edit Site Address. Where do I find that? Thanks.

  We cannot edit a URL. You cannot register a URL registered under another username account.

  This URL was previously registered https://imwiththeband.wordpress.com/ April 14, 2009 by https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/imwiththeband

  You registered http://imwithetheband.wordpress.com/ which you have now deleted.

  The guide is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/ and makes it clear that changing a URL is a permanent and irreversible act.
