Change domain name

I want to change my domain name, but it says I can’t outside a 96-hr window. I’ve had this account for years and would very much like to keep it as I evolve to something else. Please help!

If your website is hosted on WordPress.com you’ll need a WordPress support staff to help you if you want to change your domain name outside the 96-hr window.
What is your Website URL?

https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/You should be able to change your free subdomain without a problem. The 96 hour window should only refer to paid domains. So if you’re seeing that with those steps, could you get a screenshot and upload it to your media library, then update us here?

Oops, I tapped submit too early — @obt28 people should be able to change a free site URL anytime.
For the 96 hour window, after that someone doesn’t really need staff to change the URL. They can buy another domain and set it as primary if they have a plan. They just won’t be refunded for the old one. Let me know if you have questions on that.
