  I don’t remember choosing the domain name that is assigned to my website. How can I change it or customize it to something that I prefer?

  Hi there, you could add a custom domain, or you’d be welcome to change your site URL:
  https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/

  Just note if you change the site address to a different free site address, the old address will be deleted, so you’ll want to be sure about the change. Once it’s been deleted for 30 days, you will not be able to use that address again.
