Hi – I was just recently charged USD48 ([REDACTED]) for wordpress.com politically-uncorrect.site
I had totally forgotten about that site and the fact that I had a couple more – so, I went ahead and deleted everything and reduced the drama down to the Desert Penguin.Now, I am trying to change the domain name but the site keeps asking me to upgrade – if I don’t have a plan, then what was I just charged USD48 for?

Ok so here is what happened in chronological order:
i have obviously long forgotten about esctheape – I am pretty sure I have deleted that email address altogether. At some point in the past I had asked a friend to help me set up the domain politically uncorrect – a plan was added – which one, I don’t remember but I can’t access the plan for it doesn’t show. But USD48 were charged – if not for a plan, then for what?
Now I can’t cancel anything because I don’t have a plan? I mean, I obviously paid for something and it would just be easier to have a live chat to which I am not privvy – granted, probably due to my own mess but I am trying to get rid of everything and the more I am trying the more I want to get rid of just everything.

Ok great, so you with that information, you should be able to recover the account: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
Whereby you would then be able to cancel the purchase via this page here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases in the account. :)

The problem is that the email to which the site used to link, no longer exists. The email to which the charge was made is not being recognised by the system. The only email it recognises is not the one the plan was created under.

Once you’ve regained access to the account you’ll be able to update the email address that’s associated with it (and we can help you).
The first thing that you need to do is fill out this Account Recovery Form. You can copy + paste a link from this forum conversation in the box at the bottom of the form asking for any extra details.
Our team will then follow up privately by email.
Once that is settled and the account is accessible we will move on to working through the domain change questions.
