  Hi, I’m thinking about changing the domain name on my website/blog. Is that possible? What will happen to the links that currently direct people to my blog?

  I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

  Hello, I was trying to send a message from that account but it kept logging me into this one. Anyway, the site is simpleecomama.com.

  Just to clarify things, there are three different versions of “WordPress” that you should be aware of:

  1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
  2. WordPress.org, the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
  3. WordPress.com, a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

  To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.

  Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current provider, Bluehost.

  You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, using our migration plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/ and the site would need to be on the Business plan.

  As it stands now, we cannot help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
