Hello
I started a WordPress site but in mid-May I deleted it as i wanted to set it up with a different email address. But ever since I’ve been unable to find the site address, it says that it is already taken but I think this was my mistake. I can now no longer reset the password for the old account as it is over a month ago. Is there any way to check what I have done? I am unable to pay for the site as I am waiting for the address to become available.

Hi there! To confirm, are you referring to the free site address/url that comes with a WordPress site like example.wordpress.com? If so, when a site is deleted its address is not freed up for use with another account: https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/#use-a-word-press-com-site-address-you-already-own
It sounds like you may have deleted the WordPress.com account that the site was associated with more than 30 days ago in which case it (and its sites) would be deleted permanently: https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/#restore-a-closed-account
With that said, you can still create a new site and when you add a paid plan, you’ll be able to register a custom domain that would replace the free site address/url anyways and help give your site the appearance it wants.
