Change domain name
-
Hi. I would like to change my domain name altogether. Is this possible or do I need to cancel it and get the new one I want? If so, do I get any refund if I cancel before the expiration date??

Howdy,
You would need to purchase a new domain name via the Store->Domains link on your dashboard (direct link: https://energiewendeundarbeitskampf.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains ).
Domain names are registered for a year at a time and there’s no way to have a partial registration (or get a partial refund back).
You don’t have to cancel the existing domain; you can have both domains on your site if you’ll like and let the older domain expire naturally. This could be good too as anyone who has your old site’s name won’t be able to access your site if you cancel the existing domain.
If you would like to cancel, please let me know. Once it is cancelled, it cannot be undone and it won’t be available for purchase for some time.
Thanks!

right. thanks. but it surely is possible that i buy another domain name and relate it to my blog as well, i.e. so that no matter if i go to http://www.bla.com or http://www.bla2.com, i end up at the SAME http://www.blabla.wordpress.com blog??

That’s correct. You can purchase a new domain at the Store->Domains link in your dashboard at https://energiewendeundarbeitskampf.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains .
You can buy as many domains as you’d like for your site and all of them will display your WordPress.com site. The “primary domain” will be the one that shows in the viewer’s address bar once they visit the site as well as the official address that search engines will understand.
Cheers!
