Change email notification

  I am receiving emails from people who ‘like’ or ‘subscribe’ on my site. The emails are coming to my private email I signed up with WordPress. What do I need to do to get these emails come to another email address that is listed on my contact page?

  You receive emails from people who like or subscribe to your account email. You can change your account email address from here:

  https://wordpress.com/settings/account/

  Please note that the change will not immediately take effect, as you will receive a validation email at the new email address. Make sure to click the link in the validation email to confirm the email address change.

  I already tried putting my second email address here but when I do I get a message saying this email address is already being used. I’ve had this address for years and have used it on a previous WordPress website that is no longer in use. Can you fix this so the system will allow me to use this address?

  Thanks for clarifying. It isn’t possible to use an email address for more than one account, so what I would recommend is logging into your other account (you can email yourself a login link here) and changing the email on that account first.

  This will “free up” the email address to be used with your @aarblack account instead. Once you have done that, you can close the original account if you are not needing it anymore.

  I got another email through google for my website. I changed my personal email on the site to this new google email. Initially, I could get into the back end of the site by using the new email, username and password. Now, I can’t get in that way. I have to go through google (as if I was logging on to my google email) to get to the back end of my site. What can you or I do to fix this?

  To clarify, your account defaults to the “login link” method instead of allowing you to enter a traditional password? If you wish to turn this off, visit the WordPress.com login screen and use the Lost your password option to reset your password. When you reset the account password in this way, the next time you log in, you may enter your username and password going forward. https://wordpress.com/support/passwords/#login-links
