Change Emails

I created an email for my blog I later realized that the email that I wanted was spelled incorrectly. I’ve deleted that email and created a new one. Now I can’t add the new email to my existing account because it says it already exists. How can I delete the incorrect email and merge the content with the new one?

Hi @peopleofcolorpolitics, could you confirm what email address you intend to use? I’m understanding you removed the one that was spelled incorrectly. Are you trying to re-add that or re-add the username that was associated with it?
If you’ll type the email address here it will be hidden from public view so only staff can see it. And we can use that to look for more information.

this email address is the one you are currently using for this account so I’m not sure what seems to be the issue. What was the incorrect email address?

Maybe it is different for the website vs. the app but when I try to update my email address with the correct email address it says it is already jn use.

It wouldn’t be different on the app, but it is possible that on the app you are logged into an incorrect account. Go to this page: https://wordpress.com/me/account and note the email address an the username. If everything is correct there, log out from the app and log in again using that same email address.
