change existing domain mapping

    hi there,

I have an existing domain mapping upgrade that maps “blog.dwaynefoong.com” to my wordpress site.

How do I change the domain mapping from “blog.dwaynefoong.com” to “dwaynefoong.com”, without cancelling the existing upgrade?

    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Dwayne,

Since your domain mapping upgrade just recently renewed, I can cancel the mapping for blog.dwaynefoong.com for you and replace it with mapping for dwaynefoong.com.

To prepare for that, you should point your domain’s name servers to WordPress.com, with these name servers values:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

You’ll need to make that change at your domain registrar. We also have a guide to Map an Existing Domain with more details.

Once that change is done, please let me know and I can replace your domain mapping for you, so your domain dwaynefoong.com is pointed to your WordPress.com site.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

    Hi Rachel,

I have changed the domain server settings.

    What is the next step?

    Hi Dwayne,

I replaced your old domain mapping for blog.dwaynefoong.com with a new domain mapping for dwaynefoong.com, so you’re all set. :) You might just need to wait a little bit for the domain change to fully take effect everywhere.

If you have any questions or concerns about that, please let me know!

I will let you know if I encounter any issues.
