Change Favicon in Twenty Ten Theme

  hi guys,

  i am having issues changing my favicon – for some reason no matter what i do, the icon remains the same even though in my dashboard, it shows differently. i tried to clear my cache and everything, and for some reason, it just won’t work.

  Any suggestions?

  The site linked to your username has been deleted (doesn’t exist). We need to know the URL of the site you are talking about and also what the favicon is supposed to look like.

  oh weird, sorry! the site is http://darlinglittledetails.com and my favicon is supposed to be this: http://darlinglittledetails.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/favicon-16×16.png

  I see your favicon just fine. It is either a caching issue with your browser or perhaps at your ISP. Internet Explorer is famous for virtually never updating favicons even if you clear the cache. You might have to wait for a day or two if you are using Explorer.

  wow really? its the pink jar? weird! i’m using chrome and tried in my safari, too.

  also, how do i change my fonts?

  I see it too and I’m using Firefox 3.6.17. As TSP said IE is notorious for this. Try changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookies – instructions for specific browsers.
  If that doesn’t work and you are using IE then in time it will appear.

  I’m sorry but there isn’t a free and easy way to change fonts. If you are expecting to be able to click a button and change fonts throughout your blog then it’s not that easily done. Any font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, post titles, page titles cannot be done without CSS editing.

  There are 4 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.

  (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

  (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

  (3) Changing font families (not colors or sizes) using TypeKit Fonts. http://typekit.assistly.com/customer/portal/articles/6840-using-typekit-with-wordpress-com

  (4) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the blog by purchasing an annually renewable CSS editing upgrade and doing the work yourself. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

  thanks, yes, i have the CSS editing upgrade so i’ve been making all the edits so far myself, but the fonts are the part that have been tricky so far.

  ISPs use what are called “invisible proxy servers” to help lessen their bandwidth usage, and it their invisible proxy servers do not update regularly, it could conceivably take a day or two for your favicon to show up.
