change font sizes in tag cloud?
-
i’m using simpla theme, my tag cloud looks crazy. some tags are tiny and some are huge. i saw in another discussion, which is now “topic closed”, the following advice, but can’t find how to do it:
try to lower the “maximum font percentage”. Change the “maximum font percentage” and “minimum font percentage” – but not together. After a little trial and error, you will find something you like! :D
anyone? thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m afraid there isn’t a way to adjust the font sizes in the tag cloud. Perhaps as you add more posts with various tags, the sizes will look a little better over time.

Those instructions are for wordpress.ORG sofware installs. They are not for wordpress.COM blogs. We annot access, let alone, edit the underlying PHP and HTML in our templates here at wordpress.COM.At the head of the forum please read > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1
On the first page of the wordpress.com documentation you find this link > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Please do not continue posting wordpress.org answer to questions posed in this wordpress.com forum.

@thenaturalkitchen You know, you can probably use Custom CSS to make the change you want to the tag cloud font sizes.
If your interested, here’s some information about the Custom CSS upgrade:

I know you were. :) I too have self hosted wordpress.org blogs and so do other volunteers who regularly help in the forum here. I just wanted to point out how confusing it can be when we start giving wordpress.org answers to wordpress.com questions. We all have to fight the impulse to blurt the wrong answers out her every day … lol :)

thanks guys.
instead of dealing with custom css upgrades at this early stage i’ll wait and see how it looks once there’s more posts and more tags, hopefully it will start to look better.
cheers :)

@thenaturalkitchen: “once there’s more posts and more tags, hopefully it will start to look better”. Not necessarily: a) the tag cloud displays up to 45 tags (the most used ones, if you exceed that limit); b) the more you use one particular tag, the larger it becomes.
And please paste the URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your username to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know before Posting). We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

PS http://thenaturalkitchen.wordpress.com/ ?
If this the blog you’re talking about, note that you needn’t multiply your tags using different versions of the same words (such as “Saratoga Springs Personal Chef”, “Personal Chef Saratoga Springs” etc.): if you type these words, or some of these words, into the Google search box, Google will find your blog regardless of the order you type the words. The order matters only if you type the whole phrase within quotes.
