Change footer details in child theme – where is editor?

  Hi – hope someone can enlighten me! I have a little website http://www.beaconoflightenefild.co.uk which was built and set up on a parent theme Third Style – at that time I made many changes to the footer area using an editor which was available on dashboard to access the php files. A few months ago I was strongly advised to create a child theme – which is now what I am doing. I would like now to re-edit the footer area on the website – but cannot find access to the editor. What to do? Do I change theme back to parent theme and make changes and then simply move back to child Theme again? I am not very aware of exactly what I am doing and have to following instructions very carefully!! Any input from someone who is very patient would be very much appreciated. Thank you
