Change free website to paid website

Hello,
I am interested in switching from my free WordPress website to a paid website. I am wondering if the change (getting a new domain name) can be done and the transfer can be made while maintaining my current site esthetics and content (i.e. keep my chosen theme and content)? Also, can I see if my name is available for a new paid url: http://www.apriljordan.com?

Yes, you can definitely keep your current aesthetics and content while upgrading to a paid plan. By upgrading, you will gain access to additional features, but initially your site will stay the same until you change it. You can compare the different plans here: WordPress.com Plans
Unfortunately, the domain you linked to above is already taken…. Also, I recommend not clicking on the link you posted. It is actually Mature Content…. : /

As @dphyled already said, upgrading to a paid and getting a custom domain won’t change the layout of your site and you won’t experience any downtime. It is all done automatically in the background.
Also, the domain you want to use is already registered by someone else, therefore you need to select a different one. You can check the availability of a domain by visiting the following link:
