Change from blog to website

Hey there,
I didn’t mean to make my new website a blog. I just want to make it a website. I just created it yesterday. Can you help me?
Thank you!

Hi
In order to not have a “blog” as your landing page, you need to update your settings.
This page will show you the steps on how to make that happen:

Hi again,
I’m confused about how to get my page to be a Website instead of a Blog. I accidentally chose for it to be a blog when I first made the account, but I really just want a website. Please help!

I tried what you said, but I’m not sure if I did it correctly. And is it still a blog, if I follow those steps?

Hi kekoa!
So, really the only difference between a blog and a website on WordPress.com is that setting that heyadamsilver mentioned.
If you’ve set your front page to display a “static page” you’ve got a website. If you’ve set your front page to display “latest posts” you’ve got a blog.
A website can still have blog-like features. For instance, you can still create new posts, they just won’t show up on your main page. You’ll have to link to them.

@kekoakitchen – Here are a couple of guides to get you started. You might want to check them out:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/five-step-website-setup/
https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2015/07/01/where-is-my-website/
https://learn.wordpress.com/Just be aware that publishing a static website will not ping update services letting them know you’ve updated your website, because the only page that has a syndication feed (RSS) is your blog page. You may want to consider keeping it for news announcements/events even if it is not the front page of your site. You can then use the “Recent Posts” widget for making those announcements visible on your front page if it supports a sidebar or footer widget area.
Let us know if you need more help with that.
