change from blog to website

  Hi, I´d like to change this blog to a website, how can I do it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  A blog is a website.

  A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.

  What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.

  By “website,” do you mean that you’d like pages with fairly constant content, rather than a front page of articles (ie posts) appearing in date order?

  • If so, first create your new home page. I can’t remember if the default already has a page called “Home.”
  • If so, go to Pages, select that page and edit it to whatever you want on your home page.
  • If there isn’t already a home page, got to Pages >> New and create the page. Title is probably Home.
  • Then go to Themes >> Customize >> Static Front Page
    Select Front page displays a static page.
    And in the drop down box at Front Page, select your new home page.

  Then create any other pages you want.

  Thanks but I believe I have already answered this question by pointing the blogger who created this thread to all relevant step by step support docs above.
