Change from personal blog to personal website

I mistakenly selected the blog option when I created my domain name. Now I’m finding it more complicated to build my website through the blog template. Is there a way to change the personal blog to a personal website, as I should have done in the beginning? I’m still in the very beginning stages of this process, so I won’t be losing anything. I just want to start over as a website and not a blog.

    Hi there!

I’ll be happy to help you with this. But I’d like to start with the clarification that a blog and a website are technically the same thing. It’s how the pages are laid out that makes the difference.

So, on a traditional website, you’ll see a static homepage and other pages like About, Contact, etc., that aren’t updated that often. On a blog, you’ll see news article-style posts on the homepage. Many traditional websites also have a blog section, so if you click on the Blog page, you’ll see all the blog posts on that page.

If you’d like to display a static homepage on your site, all you need to do is:

    1. Publish a new page.
    2. Set that page as the homepage of your site.

That’s it! You can create more pages and add them to the menu. One of those pages could be a “Blog” page that displays all the “Posts” you publish. Of course, it’s totally optional.

As you can guess, there’s no need to restart your site or anything. You can go ahead and create a few pages and set one of them as the static homepage by following this guide:
