http://maxiblick.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/imgp4985blna.jpgwhy does the theme “Twenty Eleves” add “?w=848” on the URL? The original has 849 pixel. The reduce of 1 pixel leads to this blurred pictures. How can i correct this to the original quality?

The only way to preserve high image quality is to compress and size images to your exact size specifications prior to uploading them. As soon as the cropper comes into play the image quality is lost. See here for maximum displayed image sizes for all themes > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/maximum-image-width/

Thanks for your fast answer! hmm, i will change the theme again. But the both themes “Twenty Ten” and “Twenty Eleven” sholud have nearly the same basic settings, i think there are enough people who will upgrade from ten to eleven with the similar problem.

Did you notice that the maximum displayed image sizes that can be found at the link I posted above is different on these two themes?
Twenty Eleven — 584 585
Twenty Ten — 640 640 -
hmm yes, my pictures habe a width of about 570 pixel, they sould fit in the Twenty Eleven – theme based on width without the lost of quality. but it´s not the case because of the high of 850 pixel… the theme reduce the image size to 848 pixel so i must change the theme again.

@TT: The numbers in my post refer to the main column of each theme, not to gallery attachment pages (but the point remains: the two themes are different).
@maxiblick: The allowed maximum width for gallery attachment pages in 2011 is smaller than in 2010. And 2011 is not an improved version of 2010, it’s an improved version of Duster.
To avoid the issue you’re having, you can set your galleries to link to the full-size originals instead of the attachment pages.
