Change "home" header to a menu

    How can I change the header consisting of the page title, e.g. ‘home’, ‘about’, etc. into a menu bar? I’m using Intergalactic theme.
    I would also like to shrink the font and the height of the bar as it is much less interesting than the content on the page.
