Change hosting to wordpress cloud
-
I currently have my blog on a self hosted platform but would like to revert back to the free, basic hosting through wordpress. I would also like to disconnect my domain name as I will be using it for my external web site. All of the articles have been useless.
Any help would be appreciated as we are trying to launch our new site today.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

So, if I understand correctly, you’d like to move your content to a site hosted through the WordPress.com service?
You should be able to export your data from the current site by going to Tools > Export in your Dashboard. This will download a WXR file. Make sure you know where this file downloads, as you’ll need it for the next step.
Next, you’ll need to create a new site (or use an existing site) in the same WordPress.com account that is linked to Jetpack on your current site (so your followers and stats can be transferred; more about that in a bit).
Next, on the new site, go to your Dashboard, then Tools > Import, and upload the WXR file you downloaded previously. This file only copies the posts, pages and comments to the new blog. You will still need to set up all of the settings manually. (You appear to be using the standard twentyeleven theme, so this shouldn’t be difficult. Just make sure all of the settings under “Settings” and “Appearance” are the same on both sites.)
In order to map your existing domain to the new site created on WordPress.com, you’ll need to go to Store > Domains on the dashboard, enter the domain name, and purchase domain mapping. You’ll then be able to follow the instructions to map the domain to your new blog. Keep in mind, this can take up to 72 hours to take effect.
Finally, you’ll want to create a separate post here in the forums to request that your Jetpack followers and stats be transferred to the WordPress.com blog. Make sure to add the tag “modlook” so a moderator can see it and perform the transfer.
